The climate of Casablanca

According to Bridgat, Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco with more than four million inhabitants. The city can be found on the west coast of the country south of the capital Rabat. Casablanca is a modern city by Moroccan standards, with high-rise buildings, modern shopping centers and an extensive public transport network. Only in the old medina of the city you will come across the pictures that are so typical of most places in Morocco. The most famous and most visited building in the city is the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country and the only one allowed to be visited by non-Muslims. About 25,000 believers can fit in the mosque and a multiple of these can be found in the square around the mosque. The mosque was built almost exclusively with materials that come from Morocco. In the older parts of the city you can clearly see the colonial past of Morocco, so you will come across typical French buildings in various places. Casablanca owes its name recognition partly to the film Casablanca, Casablanca has a Mediterranean climate, which, despite its location on the Atlantic Ocean, is influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. This influence ensures, among other things, that the climate of Casablanca is milder than in many other places in the country. The average daytime temperature in the summer months is below thirty degrees Celsius. In the winter period, the mercury will drop to slightly below twenty degrees Celsius and in the evening and night it can even drop below ten degrees Celsius. Real winter temperatures rarely or never occur in Casablanca. The summer months are dry, the chance of prolonged precipitation in this period is negligible. You have the greatest chance of this in the months of January, November and December.
